Monday Musicale: Wayside Winds

Monday Musicale: Wayside Winds

Presented by Oxford Community Arts Center at Oxford Community Arts Center

Monday Musicale is a new classical music concert series here at the Oxford Community Arts Center! Starting on July 22, join us for an hour of free classical music in the ballroom at 6:30pm! Reception to follow.

The Wayside Winds are a group of friends who have to come together to have fun making music. They are all professional musicians based in Cincinnati, Ohio and are dedicated to performing the canon of woodwind quintet music, but also spicing up each performance with something new and different. Taking their name from the poem “Catawba Wine” by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, from which the Queen City derives its nickname, Wayside Winds are Annie Darlin Gordon (flute), Austin Smith (oboe), Laura Sabo (clarinet), Carol Aufmann (bassoon), and Emily Toth (french horn). Some highlights from their past seasons include recitals at the Mercantile Library on the Salon 21 concert series, Classical Revolution Cincinnati, the faculty recital series at Mount Saint Joseph University, the Christ Church Cathedral lunch recital series, the Boone County Public Library music series, the Price Hill Creative Community Festival, and Chamberpalooza at the Cincinnati Art Museum.
