Boys in grades 3-12 can discovery what the Boychoir Experience is all about!
Three evenings a year, the Cincinnati Boychoir hosts a free Discovery Night for interested boys and their parents or guardians. The directors and staff of the Boychoir talk about their goals for singers, how they work towards those goals, and the nitty-gritty details of rehearsals, performances, uniforms, and more. Basically, we try to share what parents and guardians want to know about what it’s like when their boys sing in the Boychoir.
Lest you think your boy will be bored to tears listening to all of these details, never fear. Interested boys get the chance to sing with our choirs during a typical rehearsal. They will experience how incredible it is to sing in a group of boys who want to be there and to sing well together.
We will also hear each boy sing separately in small groups. This is the audition, but it is nothing to be worried about. We keep it short and simple, and boys do not need to prepare anything ahead of time. We ask each boy to listen to a few notes and sing them and then sing a familiar song such as Happy Birthday.
We host free Discovery Nights in September, January, and May. Discovery Nights are open to any boy entering the third through twelfth grade, and there is no obligation to join to the choir.
If you can’t make it to a Discovery Night and you have a boy who would like to be considered, please call our office at 513-396-7664.
Free admission and open to boys in grades 3-12.
