THE INTERVENTION CYCLE

THE INTERVENTION CYCLE

Presented by GoodPeople Theatre Co. at First Lutheran Church

Introducing a World Premiere One Act, as well as Cincinnati City Premiere One Act – both written and directed by Mollie Jeanette Amburgey – comes THE INTERVENTION CYCLE, an evening where the audience will be invited to meet to four characters who have been touched by life altering events. How they get past them is what will be told throughout the course of the evening. Overall, each character receives what can be referred to as their very own version of a “life intervention.”

Beginning the evening will be the world premiere of THE NEIGHBORLY VISIT, which will feature actors Leslie Kelly and Nathan Henegar. The character Robin, played by Kelly, is a woman who just moved into her apartment while her husband is recovering from an injury in the hospital. Her neighbor, Nick Ryan, appears at her door with a flamboyant personality, as well as a pie. With no invitation necessary, he invites himself in. At first, Robin finds him incredibly frustrating, but as the act continues, his visit seems to be something Robin might have needed at this point of her life.

Ending the evening will be the city premiere of OLD WOUNDS, which will feature actors Carrington Rowe and Shawn Toadvine. The character Samantha Bamonti, played by Rowe, is a woman who is an up and coming column writer who reunites over chinese food and some wine with character Matthew Holden, played by Toadvine. Although their meeting may seem light and friendly in the beginning, it eventually leads into a discussion of a dark event that happened in their pasts, which they have been trying to move forward from for a very long time.

Graphic Design is by Shawn Toadvine.
