[POSTPONED] MamLuft&Co. Dance presents Decent Dissent

[POSTPONED] MamLuft&Co. Dance presents Decent Dissent

Presented by Mutual Dance Theatre and Arts Centers at Aronoff Center for the Arts

On May 4, 1970, 67 shots were fired in 13 seconds by National Guardsmen at thousands of unarmed students on the Kent State University campus. The Ohio school would thereafter be known for the government-sanctioned shooting that killed 4 and wounded 9, including students who were simply walking to class. The crowd had gathered to protest President Nixon’s expansion of the Vietnam War into Cambodia. 50 years later, Cambodian choreographer Jeanne Mam-Luft re-tells the story with MamLuft&Co. Dance and Kent State University dancers.

Awarded National Endowment for the Arts funding in 2017 and named “Best Dance Company Pushing the Envelope” by CityBeat editorial staff in 2012, MamLuft&Co. Dance presents a varied evening of athletic, passionate, and energetic physicality.

PLUS! Don’t miss a FREE post-show Q&A with the artists after the performance on Saturday, April 18 2020.
