An exploration of our symbiotic relationship with honeybees

PSOPHONIA Dance Company and AURA Contemporary Ensemble’s COLONY represents our symbiotic relationship with honeybees through a thoroughly intertwined performance of music and dance. COLONY seeks to instill an appreciation for honeybees, who are essential to our food production, and draw attention to the crisis of their rapidly decreasing population.

Artist Bio:  PSOPHONIA Dance Company, led by director, Sophia L. Torres, is dedicated to creating and presenting dances that entertain, intrigue, educate and inspire learning through collaboration and interaction with artists. Psophonia is known for its athleticism, interpretation of everyday objects and artistry. Under the direction of Rob Smith, AURA Contemporary Ensemble is an innovative chamber music ensemble from the University of Houston that frequently collaborates with artists from other disciplines.

Rating: Family Friendly (All ages) - The production features no foul language, violence, suggestive or adult situations of any kind and may actually be geared specifically towards children.
