Zen in Black & White: A Shodo Exhibition

Zen in Black & White: A Shodo Exhibition

Presented by Woman's Art Club of Cincinnati Foundation at Lynn Long

All are welcome to the first exhibition by students who study Shodo under Emiko Kuisel's tutelage at The Barn! This exhibition will be on display in the Gallery from November 5 - 11.

Emiko Kuisel was born in Kyoto, Japan. She began her Japanese calligraphy  (Shodo) training when she was 10 years old. She has the highest rank master degree of the largest Japanese Calligraphy Association. She has been immersed and trained in the many styles & techniques of Traditional Japanese Calligraphy. Since becoming a Master, it has been her passion to embody a culmination of those traditional styles into an original expression all her own. Emiko's art comes alive with the ebb & flow of her brush strokes, and through the shapes they take which bring the Kanji ~ Japanese Characters to life and meaning.
