Rama Desai's Visions is our October 2020 Exhibition in the Westheimer Gallery.

Rama is a self-taught painter who primarily works in acrylics, drawing inspiration and technique from impressionist, expressionist, and abstract influences. This is her first time showing with us at the SCAC!

From the Artist:
Visions: An experience of seeing someone or something in a dream or trance, or as a supernatural
apparition.
I see them through layers of colour and texture. Sometimes it’s the eyes, sometimes the nose, or the gentle slope of a shoulder. There can be a riot of wildflowers, or a vase in a window. Face or a flower, they want to be seen, to be felt, to be heard. They want to tell their stories. And using paints and brushes, I help them.  These are my experiences with canvas, paint and the souls that reside within.

Visions Runs October 2 - 24, 2020.  The Westheimer Gallery is free and open to the public.
Regular hours are Thursday Friday 3-7PM, Saturday 10AM-2PM, or by appointment.

Join us on FIRST FRIDAY October 2 from 6-8PM for Rama's Opening Reception Party! We will be celebrating safely with an indoor/outdoor reception and limiting the number of guests in the gallery at one time.
