A special film screening and discussion about the Women’s Marches and the collection of ephemera and signage entitled ‘Still They Persist’.
On Wednesday, January 20th, the FemFour will host a virtual celebration and ZOOM gathering for Inauguration Day. For this special event, we will present a recent short film by Rachel Rampleman entitled, “Still They Persist: Hindsight is 2020,” which the artist created for the eponymous University of Cincinnati DAAP Galleries Fall 2020 exhibition.
Taking this historic moment to reflect on the progress (or lack thereof,) which the United States of America has seen over the course of the past four years, participants will screen the film and follow it up with a short group discussion with artists, curators, partners and organizers of the “Still They Persist” living archive and its related exhibitions over the past four years. This event will be moderated by FemFour curator Maria Seda-Reeder.
Calcagno Cullen (FemFour member, Executive Director, Wave Pool Gallery/Cincinnati, OH); Elizabeth Kauffman, (Director, University Galleries Art Department, Salisbury University/Salisbury, MD); Steven Matijcio (Director and Chief Curator, Blaffer Art Museum University of Houston/Houston, TX); Rachel Rampleman (independent artist/New York, NY); Jaime Thompson (FemFour member, Director of Education and Public Programs, Oklahoma Contemporary/Oklahoma City, OK); Sara Vance Waddell (FemFour Founder, art collector, and philanthropist/Cincinnati, OH); Joey Yates (Curatorial Director, KMAC Museum/Louisville, KY)
