A screening of the film “13th & Republic” followed by live performance and Q&A dialogue with the performers
Free and open to the public, All Us, All Love, which includes the film "13th & Republic," produced by Walterhoope, will perform in parks and public spaces around the surrounding Cincinnati Metro, thanks to Cindependent. The film centers on the Black community, and how police brutality directly influences mental health issues within the community. It follows the character, Apollo, as he navigates with friends through the daily challenges of being a Black man. The four dancers who follow him exist as the fallen who are constantly paving the way of knowledge, accountability, and a reminder of how much more we have to fight. Directly following the film, its performers, as if popping from the screen into reality, will dance through a live reimagining and expansion of the film’s final moments. A Q&A dialogue will be prompted to engage the audience in conversations surrounding the Black Lives Matter Movement, police brutality, and mental health. The goal is to educate, inspire, and connect people from different worldviews.
