Opening reception and talk with Annie Ruth for “On Her Shoulders.”
Join Annie Ruth for the opening gallery talk at her new Cincinnati Museum Center exhibition, "On Her Shoulders."
Annie Ruth, one of five master artists commissioned to create visual art as part of the ArtsWave Truth and Reconciliation project, created 12 mural-size original paintings depicting the experience of Black women. Those works will be on display at the Cincinnati Museum Center in the Museum of Natural History and Science. The series, “On Her Shoulders” serves as a starting point for cross-cultural dialogue and multigenerational storytelling with community partners. The paintings have been used to facilitate multi-generational and multicultural story sharing, conversations and arts workshops.
