Boone County Visual Arts Association Summer Show at The Barn

Presented by Woman's Art Club of Cincinnati Foundation at The Barn (Woman's Art Club Cultural Center)

The Boone County Visual Arts Association is exhibiting at The Barn again! These Kentucky artists offer a wide variety of paintings in oil, acrylics, pastels and watercolor, on display from July 9 - 21. They welcome one and all to the Opening Reception on Sunday, July 11 from 1 – 4pm.

Gallery Open weekdays from 10am to 2pm, and weekends from 1 - 4pm.

From traditional landscapes to colorful abstracts it is hard to choose your favorite. Add some photographs and quilt wall hangings to the mix and you have a very nice variety. The artwork comes in all sizes with something to please everyone's palate. We love being able to visit with you once again and having you see what inspires us.

All of our members have been invited to submit art to this exhibit. One of our approximately 15 members paints with local plein air groups, traveling around the area. To sum it up, Margie Lakeberg expresses a sentiment for our association, “We are surrounded by beauty, history and good people. An artist can never run out of inspiration here!” Photographer, Josh Selm, also loves the beauty he sees in nature and capturing that fleeting moment in time. Linda Whittenburg, a fiber artist for the past 30 years, has been experimenting with combining her pictorial art quilts with painting. Sue Ervin loves bright colors and nature as you can see in her painting, “Black on Red”. Her sense of humor and love of critters is displayed in a giraffe painting for her sisters, entitled “Three Sisters “ Artist Ruthe Wyman enjoys colorful, textural, abstract painting with titles open to interpretation. Pat Buckley is inspired to paint Kentucky landscapes. During a visit to a rundown farm near Petersburg, she said, “I loved the deep morning shadows, the look of the dilapidated buildings and the beauty of the wildflowers.” You will also find her adorable grandchildren presented in her works of art. Multi-talented members Nan Burrows, Linda Lee Whaley and Barbara Winterberg will have numerous artworks in a variety of mediums.

Ruthe Wyman notes, “We are happy to be part of BCVAA, and as your neighbors to the south, love sharing our art with you. July is the perfect time to add something new to your home. It was a long awaited arrival getting to summer of 2021. Select some new original art for your home that you will appreciate forever. We were glad to continue creating during the pandemic but mostly joyful to be able to exhibit in person again!”
