On August 28 from 10 AM - 4 PM, the public is invited to paint Pleasant Street with a series of street murals created by artist Pam Kravetz, with a team of local creatives: Lin Hall, Sidney Cherie Hilley, Skye High, TC Thomason, Anh Tran, and Rick Wolf. All materials will be provided and artists will be on hand to assist volunteer painters with the 'color by numbers' painting process.

This is Pleasant Paints, a joint initiative of Art on the Streets and the City of Cincinnati Department of Transportation and Engineering (DOTE). The two organizations won a prestigious grant from Bloomberg Philanthropies Asphalt Art program in a national competition of over 200 cities. Other funders include: ArtsWave, Devou Good Foundation, Over-the-Rhine Community Council, and Greater Cincinnati Water Works.

WHY: Enhance the public street between two historic and important community assets: Findlay Market and Washington Park, provide opportunity for neighborhood residents to create together, and deepen community pride and cohesion between residents and visitors in a rapidly changing area.
