Fall Back to the 1960s

Fall Back to the 1960s

Presented by Kennedy Heights Arts Center at Kennedy Heights Arts Center Lindner Annex

Fall Back to the 1960s will feature music, art, culture and food from this historic decade when the first man landed on the moon, 250,000 marched on Washington in protest of the Vietnam War, Civil Rights Acts were enacted, the Slushie was invented, and Scooby Doo debuted on TV.

Inspired by Woodstock and the Harlem Cultural Festivals, Fall Back is a day-long music festival featuring diverse musical groups:
12 pm: Drum circle led by Baba Charles Miller. People are invited to bring a drum and join in.
1 pm: Destiny L.
2:30 pm: Siri Imani with Sound the Alarm & Ric Sexton
4:00 pm: No Rain with Roger Klug and Julie Spangler

Music is presented in partnership with Cincinnati Music Accelerator. In between the acts, DJ ThinkSavy will play rock, folk, Motown and R&B hits from the 60s.

As the bands take the stage, audience members can dance on the (astroturf) lawn with PONES, hula hoop with My Nose Turns Red, make groovy 60s-inspired wearable art with artist Robin Hartmann, and enjoy food and drink popular in the era. Local artists Hannah “Jonesy” Jones, June Pfaff Daley and more will create site-specific artworks, interactive installations and photo booths reflecting the culture and events of the 60s. Free admission and food. Cash bar. Costumes are encouraged.

This event is made possible by American Rescue Plan funds from the City of Cincinnati, administered through ArtsWave.
