Loving Wyoming: Beadwork Inspired by Indigenous Art

Loving Wyoming: Beadwork Inspired by Indigenous Art

Presented by Wyoming Fine Arts Center at The Wyoming Fine Arts Center

This month, we will be focusing on programming that relates to National American Indian Heritage Month. We are relating our project to the culture and artwork that many people of Indigenous heritage value and carry with them in their everyday lives.

Loving Wyoming is a project that the Wyoming Fine Arts Center has created to facilitate celebrations of the LGBTQIA+ community while teaching our students the power of acceptance, love, and courage through the lens of queer creatives. This will take place through curriculum in our art classes taught by queer teachers inspired by LGBTQIA+ art history, ending with a celebratory art exhibition at The Center during pride month.

Our FREE pride programming has returned for 2021-2022.

The objectives of this program are:

To create a more inclusive community
Continue to teach students the importance and power of love and acceptance
Share work on social media to spread awareness to the city at large
Collaborating with queer creatives and giving artists a platform to show work
Create an environment of diversity and inclusion that builds a stronger team and city
