Admission Info

Why did we choose the weekend of Juneteenth for our first annual Family Fun Day?

The event is the brainchild of Michelle, our Administrative and Facilities Coordinator. Here’s what she has to say: “As an African American, celebrating Juneteenth with our surrounding communities is important to me. I’m passionate about the Civic Garden Center’s commitment to educating the community. The upcoming Family Fun Day is not only a celebration for families but is also about honoring Juneteenth.” The goal was to plan a community-focused event that would be welcoming and accessible to all, and the free Family Fun Day is the result.

Michelle is especially excited about the programming that our partner organizations will offer. For instance, "the Cincinnati Museum Center has planned an exciting program that allows visitors to learn about the Underground Railroad, a pivotal point in history that has had a resonating impact on Cincinnati’s African American community.” The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra,
Cincinnati Nature Center,
Cincinnati Recycling & Reuse Hub, and @hueyoga will all be on hand as well, along with food, music, books from the Cincinnati & Hamilton County Public Library, and activities for all.

We hope you’ll join us on Saturday, June 18, from 11-3! Get all the details and register (it's free!) here: http://civicgardencenter.org/family-fun-day
