The Over-the-Rhine People’s Movement is ongoing, living, has continued to grow from the grass-roots, starting in the early 1970s. Protesting for affordable housing has been as important over the years as making art, playing basketball, taking care of the sick, and celebrating birthdays. Join the circle, as movement members share stories of how they have sustained love in action over 50 years, how they are in the struggle now as much as ever for the right of all to experience joy and love and equity and justice, and how you can step into this living community of people moving.
Organized by Storefronts as part of Artist-Run Spaces
Co-organized by the CAC and Wave Pool, Artist-Run Spaces is a convening of independent arts organizations, nonprofits, and collectives throughout Ohio and northern Kentucky. The exhibition explores a moment of self-reflection and reopening amid the pandemic. The needs and interests of these artist-run and independent spaces, which are often able to pivot and react to current events much quicker than larger organizations, are timely and important. This exhibition features ten artist-run spaces and collectives that developed an installation highlighting their work and ethos, with a focus on showcasing the work of artists and makers within their networks.
This event is free, but pre-registration is appreciated. Click here to register.
