This style was developed by Uday Shankar, who created a style based on western theatrical and Indian traditional, folk, and tribal dance.

This event is geared towards Young Professionals who want to experience something new or build on their repertoire in dance. For those who are not dancing enthusiasts but enjoy diverse art forms, this will introduce you to a form of art that brought Indian dance to the main stage in USA.

Tanusree is the daughter-in-law of the legendary  Uday Shankar. The Shankar family includes Ravi Shankar, the sitar maestro, and Anand Shankar, who redefined music. We have a special fundraising evening for those who want to meet the legendary dancer and choreographer.

This is also an invitation for dancers to join the Indian Dancers Collaborative. An invite for all dancers who enjoy Indian heritage and are trained in Ballet, Modern, Contemporary or Indian Classical.
