Cincy Designer Spotlight

Cincy Designer Spotlight

Presented by Elementz at Elementz Hip Hop Center for Youth

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop. Fifty years of music, messaging, and movement that has confronted societal ills while bringing boom-bap to the masses. As it stands, Hip Hop is a globally consumed and revered culture seen not just in its musical influence but also in its fashion influence. Together, Run-DMC and Adidas, represent the transcendent power that Hip Hop wields, unable to be confined and always daringly bold.

Therefore, at the convergence of Hip Hop's 50th anniversary, Black History Month, and New York Fashion Week, Camille and Chenelle Jones, also known as NIONNE, wish to spotlight four local designers redefining custom-made fits with an undeniable connection to Hip Hop culture and the make-something-out-of-nothing attitude Hip Hop was built on.

From puffy coats and rap icons on white tees, to denim and repurposing fabrics, these four designers represent the future of Hip Hop and urban wear.

Elementz Hip Hop Cultural Art Center supports this initiative as it aims to elevate and amplify the voices of local talent by providing a platform for discussion, celebration, and collaboration.
