Live, local music from over a dozen local musicians & bands who entered NPR’s Tiny Desk Contest, all on stage to support 91.7 WVXU.
NPR's very popular Tiny Desk Concerts (videos of musicians performing at the desk of Bob Boilen, host of All Songs Considered, at NPR headquarters) recently spawned the Tiny Desk Contest, a chance for musicians to enter a one song performance video for a chance to do their own concert. Over the two years of the contest, 37 Cincinnati-area musicians/bands have entered the contest and now, 91.7 WVXU will feature some of them in the first Tiny Desk Showcase, a night of live, local music on Saturday, June 11 at The Southgate House Revival in Newport.
This concert event will happen in the Sanctuary and Lounge of The Southgate House Revival and will present a wide-range of performers and genres. While more musicians will be added, the line-up currently consists of:
Adam Stone, Baoku, Comprador, Elk Creek, Ellie Fabe, Equator Bear, Founding Fathers, Heather Hamlet, Kaitlyn Peace, Kyle English, Pike 27, Salty Candy, Soft Peaks, Daviel Van Vechtin
Proceeds from the Tiny Desk Showcase will support 91.7 WVXU and all the news and public radio programs you love.
