LookSeeDo
LookSeeDo brings the Cincinnati Art Museum to your classroom! Teachers can choose from a selection of workshops based on their students’ curricular needs. Each workshop includes looking at, as well as making art, and all are designed to be flexible for Pre-K through 6th grade. Works of art from the Art Museum’s permanent collection are used as points of departure for exploring various subjects and making interdisciplinary connections.
Planning Your Program
All programs run for approximately one hour each. There is a limit of 30 students per session. Please allow ten minutes before and after each program for set up and clean up. Programs are available for schools within the I-275 loop.
Scheduling Your Program
LookSeeDo is $100 per program and $50 for each additional session on the same day. A maximum of four sessions per day can be scheduled. Please schedule at least one month in advance by calling Amy Meyer.
Program Topics
Through a Child’s Eyes: Down on the Farm
Students will discuss life on a farm as they look closely at Marc Chagall’s Red Rooster. A hands-on art project, inspired by Chagall’s work of art, allows students to create their own “feathery friend” collage.

Cultural Celebrations
Looking closely at works of art from the Cincinnati Art Museum’s collection, students will gain a better understanding of celebrations within Native American cultures. Students will also examine Native American symbols and demonstrate their understanding of symbolism as they create their own pendant necklaces.
Grades: 1-3
MATHterpieces
Shapes, lines, and angles, oh my! Students will discover how artists incorporate geometry into their compositions as they examine works of art from the Cincinnati Art Museum’s collection. After discussing how math is used in art, students will create their own MATHterpieces.

The Natural World
The natural world has long been a source of inspiration for artists. As they look at examples of landscapes from the Cincinnati Art Museum’s collection, students will discuss weather, seasons, and artistic styles: realism and abstraction. Students will create their own landscapes inspired by their discussion and the two mentioned styles.
Grades: 4-6
Tons Of Traditions
Through careful examination of works of art from the Cincinnati Art Museum’s collection, students will discuss the traditions of cultures around the world. As a hands-on component, students will draw upon their new understandings as they create their own masks inspired by African traditions.
