For Anton Bruckner, writing a symphony was nothing short of a spiritual experience. This is no more evident than in his Symphony No. 8, which explores the expanse of human emotion.
Fellow composer Hugo Wolf wrote, “This symphony is the creation of a giant…. It was a complete victory of the powers of light of over darkness.”
