This conference brings together musicians, researchers, physicians, and other healthcare/senior care professionals to present current research on the benefits of music on various populations. Conference attendees include nurses, social workers, physicians, musicians, music therapists and educators, counselors, recreation therapists, non-profit leaders, and the general public. Continuing education opportunities are available for most disciplines.
Topics covered are the impact of creative musical expression – past, present, and future, the benefits of evidence-based recreational music-making, and the value of a community-wide wellness coalition. This year’s event, held at the Mayerson JCC, will also present the data we have collected regarding recreational music-making.
