The 2016 Macy’s Arts Sampler Weekend celebrates its 30th anniversary with full days of art on February 27th and 28th. All events are free and open to the public through the sponsorship of Macy’s, United Dairy Farmers and Dewey’s Pizza. Macy’s Arts Sampler in Springfield Township includes performances by ZAK MORGAN, The Tracy Walker Band and CULTURAL CENTER OF INDIA!
Zak Morgan 11am-12pm
GRAMMY® nominated kids’ songwriter and performer, Zak Morgan brings all of his life experiences and a simple delight in words and music to his live performances. His interactive concerts are warm, full of humorous wordplay, and fun for all ages!
Craft 12:00 pm-12:30 pm
Kids can enjoy making a traditional rangoli sand art craft. Rangoli is an artform from India in which patterns are created on the floor in living rooms or courtyards using materials such as colored rice, dry flour, colored sand or flower petals.
Cultural Centre of India 12:30 pm-1:15 pm
Bring your family to this visually stunning show featuring songs and celestial dances from exotic India! Dancers dressed in colorful costumes, intricate jewelry and theatrical makeup will entertain you with breath-taking footwork and ancient story-telling techniques. Create a magical moment for you and your family with this spectacular showcase of artistic expression, energy and the beauty that will make you experience Celestial Dances of India.
The Tracy Walker Band 1:30-2:30 p.m.
For over a decade Tracy Walker has been at the forefront of Cincinnati’s independent music scene. Walker’s style sits at the crossroads of Folk, Rock, Country, Jazz and Blues. She has won two Cincinnati Entertainment Awards and two CAMMY Awards for music. She was voted Best Local Musician in CityBeat’s Best Of Cincinnati readers’ poll.
