Behringer-Crawford Event Will Feature Historical Reenactor Ashley Brown
“The sun shines bright on my old Kentucky home…” No words stir feelings in the hearts of Kentuckians more than these. Behringer-Crawford Museum will shine a spotlight on the man who put the words to music, Stephen Collins Foster, in a special “Brown Bag Luncheon” on Thursday, October 22.
Ashley Ford, a first-person interpreter from the Cincinnati History Museum, will bring the personality of one of America’s favorite composers to life while sharing Foster’s most famous compositions on the accordion. Foster, who began his musical career in Cincinnati in 1846, wrote many songs which will be familiar to attendees, who are invited to sing along to such standards as “Oh! Susanna,” “Camptown Races,” “My Old Kentucky Home” and “Beautiful Dreamer.”
“The Music of Stephen Collins Foster” takes place at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 22 at BCM, located at 1600 Montague Road-Devou Park, Covington. Guests are asked to bring their own lunches, Drinks and dessert will be provided.
