Call to Artists: ArtLocal Art Show

ArtsConnect would like to invite you to participate in the 10th Annual ArtLocal Art Show on Friday, October 6 and Saturday, October 7. In years past, this event has been held at The Centennial Barn and the Springfield Township Arts Center. As many of you know, our art center is undergoing renovations from a disastrous flood. (Look for Grand Opening details coming in November!)  This year, the art show will be hosted at The Grove Events Center, which is directly behind the art center at 9158 Winton Road, Cincinnati OH.

ArtLocal features local artists in and around the Greater Cincinnati area. Encouraging artists of all levels of growth and experience, ArtLocal is not a juried show to enter, however this year, ArtsConnect will be awarding first, second and third place cash awards! ($250 for 1st place) Also new and exciting – ArtLocal will be themed as a 1930’s, speakeasy. We will have a 1930’s-1940’s jazz band playing music of the times. You can come dressed for the occasion if you wish! (Don’t worry, the art does not carry a theme, but we will have a few surprises and It will be quite the celebration!)

Discounted registration for ArtLocal runs through September 1. Artists can submit up to three pieces of art for $45 through September 1 or $50 through September 25th. If you are a member of ArtsConnect’s new artist group RISE, your registration is discounted further. (Learn more about RISE at https://www.theartsconnect.us/424/RISE) There are no registrations permitted after September 25th. Artwork titles, prices and media must be known at the time of registration. Flat artwork must be ready to hang, already properly framed and wired at show time. 3D work, such as ceramics, will be displayed on tables. ArtsConnect handles the sale of all art, and does not take a commission of artwork sold. The full proceeds of art sales will be paid to the artist within 3 weeks of the show. (*4% will be retained by ArtsConnect if art is purchased by credit card to cover fees associated.) No art can be hung on the walls this year, so we will be using a gridwall system for all hanging art. Due to this, anything over 36” wide will need to be accompanied by an easel.
