Canstruction® 2024

Canstruction®

Canstruction® returns to the Weston Art Gallery!

Organized by the Cincinnati chapters of the American Institute of Architects and the Society for Design Administration, Canstruction® is an international design/build competition of the architecture and engineering industry that unites the love of design, art, creative thinking, competition, and public service. Local teams of architects, engineers and designers from firms and universities across Cincinnati race to build whimsical sculptures created entirely from canned and packaged food. After the event, all building materials will be donated to the Freestore Foodbank.

Online donations are accepted at www.freestorefoodbank.org/canstruction.

The Canstruction® designs will be created on March 5, open to the public at 2pm that day, and will remain on display through March 24, 2024.

A ticketed Awards Gala will take place at the FreeStore Foodbank at 3401 Rosenthal Way on Friday, March 8, from 5:30–7pm. Awards will be presented for Best Original Design, Structural Ingenuity, Best Use of Labels, Best Meal, Most Cans, and the People’s Choice Award. The winners go on to compete in the international Canstruction® competition. For more information on the participants and gala, see www.cincinnaticanstruction.org.
