The Cincinnati Choral Society and Blue Ash/Montgomery Symphony Orchestra will perform a joint concert of Benjamin Britten’s “Simple Symphony” and Franz Schubert’s “Mass in G”.
BAMSO will perform the Simple Symphony by Benjamin Britten under the direction of Michael Chertock. CCS will perform Mass in G by Franz Schubert under the direction of Philip Clary. Admission is free with donations gladly accepted.
The Blue Ash Symphony Orchestra was organized in 1987 to present three holiday concerts for the Blue Ash community each year. The group, composed of local professional musicians, was sponsored originally by the City of Blue Ash, but in 2002 the City of Montgomery became a co-sponsor. Since becoming the Blue Ash Montgomery Symphony Orchestra, the group has added more performances at more venues to its annual schedule. The Cincinnati Choral Society, founded in 1974, is a frequent BAMSO collaborator, joining the orchestra in traditional carols at the annual holiday concert in December and often at other times of the year. The auditioned choral ensemble includes both professional and non-professional singers from the greater-Cincinnati area. Both groups are committed to providing quality musical experiences to audiences and performers alike and strive to create a sense of community by offering concerts free of charge in a variety of easily accessible venues.
