Try your hand at a new art technique, plus engage in discussion in a museum exhibition.

Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 1–4 p.m.

Reservations required

Members: $20

General public: $30

Try your hand at a new art technique in this studio-based program designed for adult audiences. Each themed class will begin with discussion in a current museum exhibition led by an artist or educator to gain inspiration and understanding for the art form. Then, learn from skilled artists to take your artmaking practice to the next level.

Meet at Picasso Landscapes: Out of Bounds (Galleries 232 & 233) to engage in discussion with the curator of the exhibition, Peter Bell, about select pieces in the show. Then, pariticpate in a nature walk through Eden Park to the Krohn Conservatory led by a Krohn horticulturist. Along the way, gain inspiration to create your own landscape painting at the Krohn taught by REC Artist in Residence, Julia Lipovsky.

*Accessibility note: This program will require standing and walking through Eden Park. Participants using a mobility device may wish to drive from the museum to the Krohn Conservatory after the museum talk concludes or contact us for more accommodations.
