IN THE CLOUDS Community Art Project

Join artist team, Batres Gilvin, for one or all of the following IN THE CLOUDS workshops and make your “cloud” at The Carnegie.

Get your head IN the clouds and help The Carnegie celebrate imagination, creativity, and community in a collaborative art project designed by artist team, Batres Gilvin. Using a prepared canvas, let the organic shape spark your imagination and design your own “cloud” to be included in a collective art installation exhibiting at The Carnegie in 2022.

There are two ways to get involved:

Create at home. Pick up a prepared canvas from The Carnegie starting January 28, 2022. At home, using any materials you would like (paint, markers, colored pencils, collage and glue, etc.), create your “cloud” at home and return it to The Carnegie no later than May 27, 2022.

Make at The Carnegie. Join artist team, Batres Gilvin, for one or all of the following IN THE CLOUDS workshops and make your “cloud” at The Carnegie.

April 23, 2022 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
May 7, 2022 from 2:15 to 3:15 p.m.
May 28, 2022 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.

Finally, be sure to visit The Carnegie to see the IN THE CLOUDS exhibit and find your “cloud”. The installation will be completed by June 5, 2022, and will be located outside the building.

This is a call to all Carnegie patrons, community partners, students, artists, performers, teachers, and more. Help us make this art installation a true celebration of community. All are welcome!
