Maker Series: The Power of Penmanship

How can cursive handwriting still be relevant today in our digital world? Attend this two-hour workshop to learn why cursive is important for brain health. Amy Owens will lead soothing warm-up drills and demonstrate the basic strokes that make up the letters of the alphabet to create beautiful forms. No experience is necessary – you can revive your old cursive or start from scratch. Bring your favorite writing utensil (pencils will also be provided).

About Amy Owens: Amy Owens is a certified instructor of the American Cursive Handwriting System created by Master Penman Michael Sull. She has years of experience in calligraphy and teaching the lettering arts to both adults and children. Amy is a member of both the Greater Cincinnati Calligrapher’s Guild and the International Association of Master Penman, Engrossers and Teachers of Handwriting (IAMPETH). She has a background in architecture and graphic design and currently homeschools her four children.
