The Cincinnati Brass Band will perform a joint concert with the Xavier University Symphonic Wind Ensemble at the Gallagher Theatre on the campus of Xavier University. The concert is Wed. October 26 at 7:30 pm and admission is free.
This concert represents the first collaboration for the Cincinnati Brass Band and Xavier University! In this thrilling joint program, the ensembles will present a joyful exploration of unique musical styles from the United States and across the globe. Highlights include tango music of Argentina, a beloved jazz standard from New Orleans, and not one but two celebrated concerti from American and European composers. The Cincinnati Brass Band brings their signature British brass band sound and will feature soloists as well as Malcolm Arnold’s Fantasy of Brass Band. The program concludes with combined forces for Carmen Dragon’s arrangement of America the Beautiful and Americans We, by Cincinnati composer Henry Fillmore.
