Tune in for Clifton Cultural Arts Center’s virtual discussion on the what and why of Cincinnati’s whimsical, ephemeral, and historical public art.
When we say public art, what’s the first thing that comes to mind? Flying Pigs? Fountain Square? Murals? Sculptures of Presidents on horses near the public library? Painted Crosswalks? Tune in for Clifton Cultural Arts Center’s virtual discussion on the what and why of Cincinnati’s whimsical, ephemeral, and historical public art. Our featured panel will share their thoughts on how public art is connecting people even as we are physically distancing, and the future of public art as we face changes in public places and funding for the arts.
Featured Panelists: Brandon Hawkins, muralist and co-owner of Soul Palette; Colleen Houston, Chief Executive Officer and Artistic Director of Artworks Cincinnati; Jenny Ustick, muralist and professor in the School of Art at the University of Cincinnati, College of Design, Architecture, Art & Planning; Lacey Haslam, Archive of Creative Culture; Tom Tsuchiya, sculptor; Panel facilitated by Margy Waller, Art on the Streets
