THINGS ORGANIZED NEATLY: AN EVENING with AUSTIN RADCLIFFE
If the chaotic internet represents our collective id, then Things Organized Neatly might just be our visual therapist. A Tumblr photoblog cataloging precisely-arranged images of objects large and small, Things Organized Neatly is the ongoing curatorial project of Mercantile Library member, Austin Radcliffe. Radcliffe’s blog, now a book IRL (in real life), elevates the everyday in celebration of our compulsion for order and categorization. When you look at images of Things Organized Neatly, you feel at once calm and distant, like viewing a serene landscape, but frenetic and alive like dunking your head in cold water.
Join us in celebration of Austin’s recent publishing as he discusses how Things Organized Neatly came together. This event begins later than other Library events to allow for proper lighting, so we recommend that you eat dinner beforehand.
