Join Utopola & Company! Confluence is a meeting of diverse streams of music and culture. Gathering the ancient classical music of India, the folk traditions of Upper Assam and Bangladesh, and the intoxicating sounds of Sufi devotional music, this concert is both journey and exploration. Flowing alongside these musical traditions

Flowing alongside these musical traditions is the mighty Brahmaputra River, and the ancient Silk Road that stretched from Samaria to China, Bukhara to Rome.

The featured instruments include the dotara and sitar, which developed through the cultural interactions along these ancient trade routes. The classical, folk and devotional vocal music that will be featured has been performed for centuries in remote villages and the palaces of emperors. Each of these genres is unique, yet takes part in this confluence of culture, history and emotion.

Musicians:
Utopola Borah, Vocal; Hans Utter, Sitar; Ramanatha Pai H., Tabla; Shibi Likhite, Harmonium; Shafkat Kahn, Dotara & Voice.
