Juneteenth Cincinnati

Presented by Juneteenth Cincinnati, Inc. at Online/Virtual Space

Juneteenth Cincinnati has adapted its 2021 celebratory activities to adjust to the health concerns and risks associated with the covid-19 pandemic.

We will not hold the traditional Juneteenth Festival in Eden Park.

As we did last year, we are producing Virtual Juneteenth, a musical celebration video which will appear on all area cable providers and be available for streaming on YouTube and Vimeo. Juneteenth Cincinnati activities began in March and will continue through the airing of the Virtual Juneteenth on June 19.

Celebrating the Harlem Renaissance: In March we collaborated with the Kennedy Heights Arts Center to present art and music reflecting the Harlem Renaissance. Twelve commissioned art pieces were exhibited at the Arts Center. A series of videos featuring the art, as well as jazz by CPS students and faculty, and dance by Revolution Dance Theater, are available on You tube and Vimeo. A curriculum is also available to teachers. Details at www.juneteenthcincinnati.org.
