Material Play is a series of 6 creative workshops for youth aged 10 – 18 in OTR and surrounding neighborhoods, exploring different mediums of art-making using upcycled materials from Indigo Hippo and taught by local artists and organizations.

Material Play is A FREE, once-a-month workshop series for youth ages 10-18 (recommended, no restriction for children under 10 but request a parent or guardian present to participate). Each stand-alone workshop will feature different art mediums and projects, where participants will learn new creative skills and mediums from paired local artists and organizations, while exploring themes of personal growth, resilience and community.
All workshops will utilize up-cycled materials provided by Indigo Hippo, and all participants will walk away with either a finished project or the materials to continue the skills they learned at home. Registration is appreciated but walk-ins are encouraged and welcome, day-of.
