A ‘Tosca’-inspired evening featuring entertainment by tenor Aaron Blake, a gourmet dinner by Chef Todd Kelly, and a live auction.
On Saturday, November 21, Cincinnati Opera will present the 2015 Opera Ball, To Rome with Love, a trip to the Eternal City inspired by the company’s production of Giacomo Puccini’s Tosca in July 2016.
The elegant black-tie evening at the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza will begin in the Hall of Mirrors with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. The festivities then move to the Pavilion Ballroom for a gourmet dinner created by Todd Kelly, executive chef of the Hilton’s award-winning Orchids at Palm Court restaurant. American tenor Aaron Blake will entertain guests with a selection of opera favorites. Called “a vocal powerhouse” by the Los Angeles Times, Blake will star in Cincinnati Opera’s world premiere of Fellow Travelers, a new American opera by Gregory Spears and Greg Pierce, at the Aronoff Center for the Arts this summer. Opera President Murray Sinclaire, Jr. will be honored during the evening’s program.
When in Rome, the chic official after-party of the 2015 Opera Ball, will begin at 9:30 p.m. in the Hall of Mirrors, featuring entertainment by Swampthang, dancing, a delectable array of light desserts, and a cash bar.
All proceeds from the evening benefit Cincinnati Opera.
