UNDERTOW

and express tension with personal narratives. Organized by Zach Tate. Chanakarn Semachai, Tim Kowalczyk,
Pattie Chalmers, Lynne Hobaica, Rickie Barnett, Zach Tate

Room 252
LAND, BODY, EARTH
The participating artists explore how clay is a metaphor for the temporal nature of life. Reminiscing on the
saying, “dust to dust, ashes to ashes,” we are reminded of the inevitability of the finite nature of life and how,
like all living beings, we return to the earth after we die. The title, Land, Body, Earth, addresses the human
interaction with the natural world as a multifaceted and often contradictory relationship. Curated by Eliza Au.
Karla García, Yewen Dong, Marianne Chénard

Room 260
POLYVOCALITY: SOLIDARITY IN THE TIME OF POLITICAL RUPTURE
A virtual curated exhibition of contemporary Iranian ceramic artists from across the world, from Iran to the
United States. Their work uses the expressive quality of clay as a contemplation on the current uprising in Iran
and calls for action with an insistence on human rights and freedom. Curated by Raheleh Filsoofi.

Rooms 263-264
26th ANNUAL NATIONAL K–12 CERAMIC EXHIBITION
Professor Bobby Scroggins selects works included in this premier annual juried ceramic competition for
Kindergarten through Grade 12 (K–12) students in the United States. Designed to showcase outstanding
creativity with clay by school-aged youth, the exhibition takes place in a different city each year in conjunction
with the annual conference of the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA).
