12 of the area’s most talented female artists and artisans celebrate the 25th anniversary of selling their work which ranges from prints, paintings and pottery to jewelry, collage and sculpture – all hand-made.
This sale began with a handful of women artists in the studio of Cincinnati paper maker Margaret Rhein 25 years ago. Since then it has expanded to 12 artists and artisans and moved into the spacious theater in the historic Harmony Lodge in Spring Grove Village.
Every year a guest artist, usually a young emerging artist, is asked to show with the group as a mentoring opportunity. This year’s guest artist is Emily Howard, a printmaker best known as the Diggingest Girl. She hand carves and hand pulls linoleum and rubber block prints that explore myths, folklore, social issues and more.
Joining her is the core group of Studio Collection artists:
- ceramicists Terri Kern and Pam Korte
- jewelry makers Lisa Inglert (glass) and Susan Naylor (paper/resin mosaics)
- paper artists Sara Caswell-Pearce and Margaret Rhein
- pastel artist Mary Mark
- multi-media artists Renee Harris and Ursula Roma
- artisan soap, condiment and comestibles maker Jennifer Gleason
