The 34th year of It’s Commonly Jazz opens up with a young jazz phenom, Adanya Lin and her ensemble. She released her first jazz album this year, became a 2019 SCPA alum and is headed to Oberlin.
The season opener for It’s Commonly Jazz is on August 1st and starts at 6 PM. She started playing the piano at the age of six and is finishing school a year early so she can head to college. Her ensemble will hit the stage and showcase a ‘hurricane of creativity’ that will have you lost in the story of the music and hearing how the jazz masters have influenced her style. You don’t want to miss being part of this opening night and hearing the next generation of great jazz musicians.
In 2019 the jazz series is focused on showcasing the emerging talent and artistry of young artists and the jazz power and mastery of young women like Adanya Lin.
