Art Smarts: Impressionism Goes Inte...

Learn about how the Impressionist movement influenced American artists in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

In preparation for the special exhibition Daubigny, Monet, Van Gogh: Impressions of Landscape in 2016, the Taft is offering a series of informal and friendly talks presented by Manager of School and Docent Programs Lisa Morrisette. In this talk, we will learn about how the Impressionist movement influenced American artists in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Following painters like Daubigny and Monet, many American artists opened their palettes and brushwork. We will also see how the influence of the Impressionists continues today.
