Bodies in Flux- Discussion and Creativing Writing Workshops

When does life begin?

Bodies in Flux” amplifies the voices of people who have faced or supported abortion decisions, conveying and fostering empathy and understanding. It transcends the need for agreement on this complex subject and instead advocates for body autonomy.

In 2022 Asha created The Game of Life, a fabric vagina sculpture that encourages essential conversations about body autonomy, pregnancy, and the future of reproductive justice through the exploration of ephemeral objects located inside large pink Easter eggs. This project transforms The Game of Life into a platform for intentional dialogue.

Through six workshops in March 2024, participants will discuss the emotions and potential implications evoked by the object(s) found inside the eggs. A creative writing session will follow each discussion session.

Bodies in Flux amplify the voices of people who have faced or supported abortion decisions, conveying and fostering empathy and understanding. Select writings will inspire response art in the form of new fabric vagina sculptures, incorporating participant quotes directly into these works.
