The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra presents educational, interactive and entertaining Young People’s Concert field trips for students, teachers, and homeschool families.
For centuries, people have turned to music to express emotions and ideas that can’t be described through words alone. Join the orchestra and explore the power of music to communicate emotion, share different cultures, and ignite change. This concert features Shostakovich’s powerful Symphony No. 5, music inspired by the poetry of Dr. Maya Angelou, American patriotic songs, and the winner of the annual YPC Melody Contest! Express Yourself! is recommended for students in Grades 6-12.
Students across the community are encouraged to enter the Express Yourself Melody Contest by October 2, 2017! More information available at cincinnatisymphony.org/youngpeople
This concert includes an accompanying Curriculum Guide with standards-based lesson plans for music specialists and classroom teachers. More information at cincinnatisymphony.org/youngpeople
