Mychaelyn Michalec
Please join us for an informal and informative Gallery Talk with exhibiting artist Mychaelyn Michalec.
Using both mechanical and hand tools, Michalec (Dayton, OH) creates large-scale textured wool rugs to address themes of gendered labor, feminism, sexuality, and art history. Textiles are historically a language of creation assigned to women at birth, and she uses these processes as part of a historical continuum of our cultural heritage. The exhibition runs June 16 – August 20, 2023. The Gallery will be closed on Tuesday, July 4.
The Weston’s annual Gallery Talk Series of public lectures and informal talks provides a rare opportunity for the public to meet the presenting artists and enjoy the ensuing dialogue. Every Gallery Talk provides a unique insight into the passion, curiosity, materials, and creative process of each artist and their discipline. All talks are FREE and open to the public. Refreshments are provided.
