Tobi Ewing
Please join us for an informal and informative Gallery Talk with exhibiting artist Tobi Ewing.
Tobi Ewing: The World Is (Not) My Home – Tobi Ewing (Dayton, OH) is an interdisciplinary artist-designer whose work aims to activate stories, space, and time. Her work and practice investigate and elevate the Black African Indigenous design perspective – and the world-building capabilities of Black creative expression. The World Is (Not) My Home questions what is home, who is home, how home finds you, and how you find home, and does so in the context of colonization and the Black and Indigenous experience navigating continuous trespassing of land, space, and time. The exhibition runs September 15 – November 12, 2023.
The Weston’s annual Gallery Talk Series of public lectures and informal talks provides a rare opportunity for the public to meet the presenting artists and enjoy the ensuing dialogue. Every Gallery Talk provides a unique insight into the passion, curiosity, materials, and creative process of each artist and their discipline. All talks are FREE and open to the public. Refreshments are provided.
