Did you know that approximately 1 in 4 individuals of Jewish descent are a carrier for 1 of 19 specific genetic conditions? Whether you are thinking about having a baby soon, or in the more distant future, this important event will provide you with more information about genetics, carrier screening and options.
This event will begin with Amber Volk, certified genetic counselor, discussing genetics, the importance of genetic testing, genetic conditions more prevalent in the Jewish population and options for those individuals who test positive. Light brunch will be served. Attendees may receive testing provided by NXGEN MDX, in partnership with Dr. Ellen Feld, Gynecologist, Associates in Women’s Health. Bring your insurance card.
