Prominent African American photographer and one-time Cincinnati resident James Presley Ball’s remarkable portraits of multicultural clients are held in collections nationwide. University of Cincinnati professor Theresa Leininger-Miller will place Ball in the context of other artists, feature many of his works, and discuss his abolitionist and civic passions, as well as his connections to political and social leaders—local, national, and international.
This monthly series features local experts showcasing a range of topics related to art, history, and Cincinnati-area culture.
