Modern Living: Objects and Context

Two-part exhibition exploring the intersection and conflation of design and art objects. Co-curated with BLDG

Modern Living: Objects and Context is a two-part exhibition exploring the intersection and conflation of design and art objects. The first floor of The Carnegie galleries will present art and design objects in a traditional “gallery” context. Upstairs similar or identical objects by the same artists and design teams will be presented in simulated live/work environments. This conscious decision to examine where and how sculpture and design overlap or diverge was precipitated by a tremendous influx of design build firms into this area brought on, in part, by the increase in restaurants, bars, breweries, offices, and retail environments in downtown Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.

.Co-curated with BLDG
Sponsored by: Mark Boire & Peter Quinnan and Mary Ellen & Tom Cody
Participating artists and designers: Keith Benjamin, Such + Such, Brush Factory, Matt Lynch, Matthew Metzger, Chris Vorhees, Taryn Cassella, Colin Klimesh, CVG Made, Grainwell, Ampersand
