Music@BCM: Steve Bonafel, Jessie Lyn & The TNT Express

It’ll be a night of bluegrass and classic country as Northern Kentucky’s Steve Bonafel returns to the Music@BCM stage at Behringer-Crawford Museum on Thursday, Aug. 11.

It’ll be a night of bluegrass and classic country as Northern Kentucky’s Steve Bonafel returns to the  Music@BCM stage at Behringer-Crawford Museum on Thursday, Aug. 11.

Bonafel has been making music for two decades as a band leader, singer and songwriter, recording six albums, performing hundreds of live shows, and scoring a “Bluegrass Song of the Year” in 2016.

After being a side man in other bands, Bonafel launched the group “One Iota,”  which released its first CD in 2002. In 2006, the band was selected to perform at the prestigious International Bluegrass Music Association Showcase and released the CD “Feuds & Fridays,” which made it into the top 25 radio chart. He has been selected for the IBMA Songwriter Showcase numerous times. In 2019, he released a new CD, “Steve Bonafel Real Country” and his song “The Last Parade” made it to #1 on the Radio Music DJs Hot Top 100 list.

Appearing with Bonafel at Music@BCM will be singer Jessie Lyn Fisher with her TNT Express Band. A self-described all-American, blue-collar country girl,” Jessie Lyn pours her heart and soul into the classic country music she performs. The daughter of the late musician Woody Lynch, Jessie Lyn has performed at Renfro Valley, KY, Little Nashville, IN and her own Legendary Lebanon Grand Opry House in Lebanon, OH, evoking classic country legends like Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn and Barbara Mandell, with hints of western swing, honkytonk and outlaw country.

The 2022 Music@BCM concert series is dedicated in memory and honor of our friend and BCM Trustee, Gary Johnston who passed away unexpectedly this year.

The family-friendly performance takes place in BCM’s outdoor amphitheater at 1600 Montague Road-Devou Park, Covington, KY 41011. Admission is $5 for adults and free for children ages 3-12.
