What’s Interesting

  • Nominated for 17 Grammy Awards, Fleming is one of the most celebrated singers of our time.
  • Strauss wrote these songs for his wife Pauline. Though they had a tumultuous relationship—she once threw a score at him in rehearsal—she remained his constant muse.
  • Rachmaninoff underwent hypnosis to overcome crippling anxiety and depression. “You will begin your concerto…it will be excellent,” was his mantra.
